almost there summer trip
June 12, 2011
hello friends,
i’m almost there. almost. my trip to israel, italy and france is waiting for me…one more day to go.
my posts this summer will be sporadic but i know i’ll take a lot of inspiring photos, meet inspiring people and visit inspiring places. will share it all.
it’s a beautiful day here and i intend to enjoy and relax…before the long flights. my new ipad 2…silliest most expensive toy i’ve ever bought for myself…will accompany me in the wee hours. not that i know how to use it…or my new touch phone. even when i do, that doesn’t mean i know what i’m doing…
have a great and inspiring summer everyone.

hanging beauties
whenever i enter a room, especially for the first time, my eyes are almost always looking either up or down – chandeliers or rugs. dah. when i moved into our current house i made sure to hang a beautiful chandelier in every room…especially in the kitchen…the best place to display your most prized kitchen possession don’t you think?
in my travels or shopping trips i try to steal a moment to capture hanging beauties:
love this chandelier. the whole space is so Bali inspired
on a much smaller scale i would love to have one in my bedroom
massive in size and visual impact this glamorous chihuly inspired chandelier hangs at “shangri-la” hotel new-delhi. the massive size lobby contain three of them! a stunner!
shining star in one of many atlantis hotel dining rooms in the bahamas. i literally ate my food cold…was busy starring at this glam star. i can absolutely see it rocking my high ceiling dining room. it gets my attention every time.
one of my finds at a home center.
another find. perfect for moroccan inspired outdoor spaces. love. i should have bought it when i saw it. damn.
very appropriate light fixtures…adding a feminine touch to a very zen inspired bedroom. the rug is from our textura collection.
how cool is that. simple kitchen items and bam! instant chandelier.
another parisian creation. they were on display in printemps, paris.
now i know what to do with my plain wine bottle openers…
this chandelier reminds me of long artificial nails. it’s an interesting fixture if you saw the whole space it resides in…but not my taste.
o.k. it’s not a chandelier…but isn’t this just a beautiful modern space? i love how the wall “throws” little windows of lights. chic.
now, i have one more room in my house in which is in desperate need for a beautiful glass chandelier…my bedroom. right now my bedroom ceiling has this boring looking fan…which helps me breath sometimes…but that’s it. any suggestions? pictures?
thanks a lot and in the meantime,
bonn journée
best cheese cake you will ever eat, part one
June 6, 2011
hi everyone,
how was your weekend? mine was yummy. and inspiring. if you’re asking me.
you see…this post is a must share because i felt it’s the right thing to do today. so this past weekend i made the most amazing, scrumptious, delectable, mouthwatering…and sexy…goat cheese cake! yes…maybe i’m full of myself now (my daughter thinks it’s my full time job), but dear amis…in less than 60 minutes this cake was gone. and we didn’t even have friends over. didn’t even have a chance to take a picture.
but just so you know…this goat cheese cake has the most amazing and easy to make crust (made it out-of-nothing-in-the-pantry kind of crust). and the secret – cheese – goat cheese that is. mixed with another cheese…fluffed and airy batter…on top of a crunchy crust…topped with rum flavored fresh strawberry purée…yum. what? recipe? i know. that’s part two. i just didn’t plan to write about recipes in this blog but hey…i never know.
the scrumptious cheese cake has these:
and every pleasurable bite inspired me to think of this:
and this summer i am going on:
to do this:
again…and again. yippee.
so why don’t you go bake something delicious now and tell me all about it.
bonne journée amis.
More reasons to love Paris
November 6, 2010
“I must see her and press her to my heart. I love her to the point of madness, and I cannot continue to be separated from her. If she no longer loved me, I would have nothing left to do on earth“. Napoleon Bonaparte
These past few days I’ve been looking through photos I took on my trips to Paris and thought I’d share some with you. Paris never cease to inspire and surprise me. I can’t stop thinking that she:
…is the most romantic city in the world.
…makes my husband fall in love with me. Again.
…made me celebrate my birthday on the Eiffel Tower.
…shows exquisite Autumn colors, it makes me wanna grab a brush and go ‘crazy’ with paint.
…exhibits the best works of art.
…offers mouth-watering Mediterranean cuisine.
…has the creamiest Chocolate that never makes me feel guilty.
…makes the best desserts on earth.
…makes the most seductive ladies shoes – if only I was size 6. *Sigh*
…has enchanting views of the city at sunset - makes me wanna kiss the sky.
…now, by all mean drool away. You’re allowed:
