Drawn to drawing
June 29, 2011
No matter where i am or what i’m thinking…i create.
Much of my vacation time here in israel is spent taking pictures, reading books and visiting family. In the evenings…after long hot hours…in my rented apartment…i find myself going back to drawing…in pencil (the number one benefit to have a place of your own. No distractions).
While reading a beautiful novel…a love story of a blind boy who fell in love with a beautiful deaf girl…in india. I couldn’t stop wonder about the image on the front cover of the book…then without much thinking i grabbed my pencil and started to draw the blind boy in a silk cloth.
I can’t help it…but i love and always will…love pencil drawings. There is a sense of mystery to a black and white drawing…a sense of precision…wonder.
Simple tools…pencil and paper…can take you to places only your mind can see.
Rugs reviews: rug design blog
June 23, 2011
Katy from rugdesignblog knows a thing or two about rugs. She is a rug designer herself and an editor of her own blog, where she passionately expresses her endless love to area rugs and everything that surrounds it.
She recently wrote an appetizing review after her visit at the ICFF 2011, introducing herself to every rug company that was there. Let me tell you…she was impressed. I can say it because i follow her blog for a while now and she is such a support in the rug community.
A big thank you to katy for writing about us, RUG ART, again, and for taking the time to view the world of rug designs…every time.
Here are some pictures of katy’s reviews while visiting our booth…but don’t take my word for it…check out her blog.
more beautiful rooms settings
June 22, 2011
Hello amis,
It’s a busy week here…trying to blog from a tablet…kids…family. And going to sleep at four am every night…jet lag…
But am enjoying and trying to find inspiration at the same time. Speaking of inspiration i love to look at room settings…let alone room settings with beautiful area rugs. Surroundings that tell a story…an adventure…a thought.
I found some pictures of room settings…this time with rugs…my rugs. Enjoy.
Living room with “heliconia wild” hand knotted rug.
I love how the pattern stretches across the field. Makes such a statement.
Living room with “poet” rug.
What an entry way. I love this rug. It’s fun. It’s “whip”.
Sitting room with “spice” rug.
I love how the pattern of the rug is reflected in these ceramic stools. I wouldn’t add a thing.
What kind of rugs do you like? What mood you want your rug to bring into your home?
paris flea market treasure
June 20, 2011
Hello
How are you all? Are you doing all right where ever you are? As you know, im in israel heading to italy in a couple of weeks…than paris. Can’t wait.
You might notice small changes in the post format. This is because of my new toy…ipad2…and now “iblog” from my ipad. A small task but not so simple. As of now i’m not sure i know what i’m doing.
On the same note, i wanted to show you my found treasure on a recent trip to paris…hunting for specials.

The vintage mirror tray wasn’t included. I know…should have bought it.
from a distance i spotted this delicate and exquisite white porcelain tea set that was looking back at me…on a quiet flea market morning…while i walked with my husband…quickly i let go of his hand and ran to this tiny looks-like-it’s closed shop…my husband thought i saw a ghost.
Oh…so delicate to hold…the sound of the cups against the saucers was almost like a “tweet”. and i’m thinking…it was meant to be.
after fruitful negotiation (thanks to my husband), i happily and carefully brought the bubble wrapped tea set…to the states…into my kitchen…where it belongs.
I’m the only one in my household who pays special attention to this gorgeous delicate. everyone else drinks from regular way bigger mugs. they think i’m crazy to sip my coffee once and refill it. it’s so small but i don’t mind. to me every sip i gold.
red hot inspiration
June 13, 2011
red is not my favorite color but sometimes i use it in my rug designs and pillows…sparingly…and sometimes…all the way. it sure has a character…more red more energy.
red has its own way. but for some reason red is the color that comes right at my face this week. i’m thinking reds. maybe i have a burning desire to something ( it better be good).
there are all kinds of reds.
powerful…
stimulating…
hot (imagine a blond standing in a red phone booth)…
my red silk decorative pillows
my red french dessert…ahhh
my red hot watercolor painting heliconia
our guest room in a moroccan riad, marrakesh (red city…)
spacious hallway adjacent to our room in the riad
my bonsai inspired rug
happened to match – red manicure and a soft red cozy blanket
what’s your red? share it. i’m sure it has many faces.
