glam powder room diy

May 26, 2011

hi there,
how are you all?
remember my post when i talked about powder rooms? i posted some images of mine too. it looked beautiful and i liked it…then. but the design bug hit me again and i wanted a change it…start fresh…make it unexpected to every visitor…even a repeated one.
when idea strikes…speaking of idea i found my inspiration for my powder room’s new look: vintage glamour.
you see, my daughter is a very talented young guitarist. she inspires me to express my love for music i never thought i would. i even designed a rug inspired by her talent but that’s another post. so when i went to the art store to buy markers i spot this card stock album on a shelf, filled with pages showing gorgeous music elements you know which one i’m talking about?
and  i’m thinking: why not take this card stock papers and use them as a wallpaper?? genius!!
so i did.
assuming you’ve read my post i mentioned above (it’s o.k. if you havn’t…but you should), then you probably know how it looked before. and this. this is how it looks like now:

i used wallpaper glue to apply one square foot sheets on the wall. you have to be very neat. i discovered that after my second messy mistake…
don’t you just love these music notes? i mean really you can sit there and read them…
silver leaf ceiling and glass chandelier-diy silver-leaf ceiling i did before this project…left untouched.
beautiful diy project for a glamorous powder room
it was time to hang art…

RUG-ART in Rumson showhouse

May 26, 2011

Thanks to interior designer Felicia Zwebner from art de triomphe designs, our flora hair-on-hide rug beautifully ties a gorgeous interior room created by the designer, in this stunning NJ estate…an event held by  Stately Homes by the Sea Designer Showhouse

what do you think about the house?
flora leather rug
i love the back to back sofas in this room. i havn’t seen it in real life but i can imagine the room must be large.  our flora leather rug is fairly big in size and is featured here as a graphic and artistic focal point. notice the two balls on the corner of the pool table to the right? it echos the pattern on the rug. love that detail!

RUG-ART hair-on-hide is here

May 26, 2011

i’ve created a new line of leather rugs for a while now and as we speak this line is hot and gets a lot of attention at RUG-ART (also got a lot of feedback on icff show).
hair-on-hide rug by rug-art
it’s a great line of cow-hide rugs, made of small leather pieces sewn together (not glued), for longevity and quality.
properly cared for, your hair-on-hide rug will last for many years even a life time. easy to care – simple vacuuming every once in a while to remove dirt is a good idea, otherwise, dirt left in the rug can destroy the leather when walked on (imagine rubbing your face with dust particles every time you touch it. not pretty). professional cleaning when necessary will take care of business too.
for those who are looking to add that chic and modern look in their interiors, hair-on-hide provides just that.

noche is “the bomb”

May 20, 2011

there is a new blog in town. not only that i love its visual appeal (cool and nifty), i also love the way richard rabel puts his words together. he is simply talking and i can sense his admiration to art.
richard chose to post in his blog about one of my rug designs “noche”…which inspired him and which i found he loves so much. when i say i love his word choice this is what i mean: “…the noche collection is truly ‘the bomb’…”, i mean not only that it makes me smile but hey…it rocks.
you can check it out in his new blog here
